For six years in the late 1970s and early 80s, Daniel sang on the mountain at Big Sky, Montana. In the summers, he toured small towns in Montana and Canada, and played employee lounges around Yellowstone Park. While at Big Sky he made cassette recordings of several live performances at the Caboose on the mountain and also a recording of a gig at Hapner Hall on the MSU campus. The songs on this album are rough and imperfect, but they represent an era in the life of a songwriter and there is no hiding behind EQs, autotune and special effects.
